The export STL plug-in is a perfect tool for SketchUp to import and export. STL files for 3D printing.
The STL file is composed of the definitions of several triangular patches. The definition of each triangular patch includes the three-dimensional coordinates of each vertex of the triangle and the normal vector of the triangular patch. The arrangement of triangle vertices follows the right-hand rule. There are two encoding formats for. STL files: text file (ASCII) and binary file (binary).
